FOLK, just like every other taxpayer files tax returns every year. We know how much fun that is, so we created our own tax day trivia based on our returns. Actually we think it tells you a lot about us. Keep an eye on this space. We’ll put out more information for your entertainment.
The Children’s Department at the Kingwood Branch Library is requesting your old Duplos for upcoming programs this summer. We have collected enough Legos, but if you have any Duplos that need a new home, we would love to put them to good use. Donations will be accepted through May 30, and can be dropped off at the Children’s Desk (through the inside double doors and to the right past the DVDs). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Anna Weinberger [email protected]
The FOLK Used Book Store is scheduling another training for Used Book Store volunteers. This is your opportunity to meet up with fellow book and people lovers, serve the community, and make money for library programs and materials all at the same time.
Please consider this chance to spend a couple of hours a week in a great setting! Now is the time to sign up for the next volunteer training session. Training will be offered on Monday, April 24 at 10 am in the FOLK Book Room and should last about an hour. Tell your friends, and have them tell their friends, about this worthwhile and rewarding volunteer opportunity.
If you are interested then please sign up by completing this online form on the Friends of the Library-Kingwood website. You couldn’t pick a better group to work with, or a better cause to work for. The community will thank you!
We’ve created a Facebook page to help promote FOLK and our mission to help the Kingwood Library. We plan to keep posting items of interest on our page. We hope you like it!

FOLK needs volunteers to work in the Used Bookstore every day, but especially on Saturdays (as little as one Saturday per month) or as a substitute when a regular helper is absent. All it takes to become a bookstore worker is a one-hour training that will be offered on Monday, March 20 at 10:00 a.m. in the bookstore. It consists of an orientation acquainting attendees with all aspects of the store. To register for this training, click here and fill out and submit the bookstore volunteer form so we can contact you.
