All the 50-cent books on the tables just outside the FOLK Used Bookstore are on sale throughout July. Buy two books, get one free. Can’t beat these prices.

The orientation session for people who’d like to volunteer in the FOLK Used Bookstore only takes an hour. The next session is Monday, August 14, at 10:00 a.m. in the bookstore. Those who complete the orientation may then assist in the bookstore during two-hour time periods on a weekly basis or as an occasional substitute when a regular helper is absent. To register for the orientation, click on BOOKSTORE above, choose VOLUNTEER, and then submit your bookstore volunteer form.

Tax Day Trivia Quiz

FOLK, just like every other taxpayer files tax returns every year.  We know how much fun that is, so we created our own tax day trivia based on our returns.  Actually we think it tells you a lot about us.  Keep an eye on this space.  We’ll put out more information for your entertainment.

Looking for Duplos

The Children’s Department at the Kingwood Branch Library is requesting your old Duplos for upcoming programs this summer. We have collected enough Legos, but if you have any Duplos that need a new home, we would love to put them to good use. Donations will be accepted through May 30, and can be dropped off at the Children’s Desk (through the inside double doors and to the right past the DVDs). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Anna Weinberger [email protected]

Used Book Store Volunteer Training

The FOLK Used Book Store is scheduling another training for Used Book Store volunteers. This is your opportunity to meet up with fellow book and people lovers, serve the community, and make money for library programs and materials all at the same time.

Please consider this chance to spend a couple of hours a week in a great setting! Now is the time to sign up for the next volunteer training session. Training will be offered on Monday, April 24 at 10 am in the FOLK Book Room and should last about an hour. Tell your friends, and have them tell their friends, about this worthwhile and rewarding volunteer opportunity.

If you are interested then please sign up by completing this online form on the Friends of the Library-Kingwood website. You couldn’t pick a better group to work with, or a better cause to work for. The community will thank you!
